The History of Puerto Calero
Puerto Calero is the outcome of José Calero’s vision of a luxury marina on Lanzarote. The resort started taking shape in 1986 and saw a fast development of infrastructure and extravagant villas with the construction of the port. It took only 3 years to finalise the 200 planned berths, but as the available accommodation was swiftly increasing, with many other luxury hotels and villas being constructed, the decision was made to double the number of available places in the dock. Nowadays, the two most extravagant 4 and 5 stars hotels in Puerto Calero are the Costa Calero and the Hesperia Lanzarote.
The Marina and where to eat and drink
Currently, the marina has a capacity of 450 berths, ranging from 8 to 75 metres, with the capacity of accommodating some of the world’s biggest yachts and vessels.
